In The Glass Menagerie:

Laura:  I went in the art museum and the bird houses at the Zoo. I visited the penguins every day! Sometimes I did without lunch and went to the movies. Lately I’ve been spending most of my afternoons in the Jewel Box, that big glass house where they raise the tropical flowers.”

In Real Life:

Now, that sounded like fun. I found I wanted to play hooky just like Laura Wingfield did in The Glass Menagerie. And it turns out all those things are located in one place – Forest Park. As kids – Tennessee Williams and his sister Rose spent a lot of time in the park. It’s big and beautiful – a peaceful spot in the city.  I found these hooky opportunities there – and the best part – they’re free – for the most part.
